The food is ok, and beers are not that bad, they have a different taste, as do all micro beers.... The management (todd wells) however, HORRIBLE!!! The manager kicked me and my friend out after 1 round because we were saving a seat at the bar for my fiance...... To prideful to admit he was wrong... INCOMPETENT Management in this bar as well as the hotel, when i submitted my complaint to the management, i never even heard a response.... give me a break

I went here because I was having my wedding reception at the hotel and the catering person said that any of the drafts were available for the reception. They arranged for a free tasting which I did I with a buddy of mine. Every beer was terrible, how bad....we didn't even finish the freebies. Another example of a lame brewpub. Note the hotel did get me my selection of beers that I wanted and it was great reception in a very nice hall.

I was kinda of disappointing after coming to Judge Baldwin's since it's in a nice area and a great hotel. Came in here for a little break in between the boyfriend's seminar and ordered a bloody mary. I wanted it spicy with celery salt inside and on the rim. It was pretty mediocre. The only good thing was that they actually put the celery salt, which made it better. I had to ask if they made it spicy and the waitress looked confused then asked the bartender and had to take it back. She came back and said "oh no it wasn't, but it is now." I don't understand how hard it is to remember to tell the bartender that I wanted it spicy since it wasn't busy at all. Plus I sat right next to the bar. It had too much ice in it too, which made it difficult to drink at times. The only positive part was that the manager was super nice and he even remembered that I wanted the celery salt. He had made sure to come by and check if they had actually put the celery salt, I thought that was pretty cool of him. I honestly didn't get the pub ambiance to this place so that was also kind of a downer. Bummer.

We are staying at the hotel and wanted something quick. My husband had the Turkey burger and fries. Good size and the burger was very tasty. I had a Santa Fe salad with grilled chicken. Good portion, but dressing was too spicy. Service was a little slow, but all the cooking was done to order, so it was worth the wait.

The service was good. Our waiter was very attentive. The food was very good minus the one dish I ordered but didn't like. That isn't a knock on their food at all it was my personal taste. Everything else was delish!

Wish I could give it a higher rating but they never came to take a food order. She forgot my beer. She refused to look at me. The menu looks nice but I won't be back to try. Even if it was her first day she should still be able to say "Hi, how are you? What can I get you? Would you like a lunch menu?" I wish she would have been busy or have had some excuse to have bad service but we were the only people at the bar. Bums me out, I love our downtown scene. I wanted to find a new spot off the beaten path but this sure isn't it. *Bartender's name was Micah. Maybe other servers offer better service....

Nice place to grab a bite to eat. The staff is friendly. The burger and fries are my go to items. The location makes it a great place to park and walk around. The tap beers are great! Whenever the conversation is about the best place for a burger, I always name this place as an example. The prices are not bad. When you walk in you may think that its a high price establishment by the decor, but its not.

Great burgers. Valerie is great. Ask her what is good that day and she'll steer you straight.

I'd heard quite a bit about this place on the radio and was really excited to try it, the ads sell it as a great place to get good and exclusive craft beer but the tap selection can be described as nothing else than hyper-pedestrian. I'm sorry, but if you promote yourself as a craft bar in Colorado Springs and you've got Bristol and Breckenridge allover your taps, you should just call it a day. Also our service was just horrible. No need to expand on it, even if it was this girl's first day, it would be inexcusable. WE'RE THE ONLY PEOPLE AT THE BAR! Didn't try any of the food. The menu looks pretty modest and solid but I doubt I'll be back to try it.

Surprisingly good green chili. The tempura fried stuffed jalapeños with spicy tuna was also solid. The rest was average at best.

Conveniently located in the Antlers Hilton, I ate here for dinner two days in a row with my colleagues. Needless to say, I was bored of their food after the second night's dinner. The menu was standard serving basic caesar salad to hamburgers and grilled steaks. There was something for everybody here. Although Judge Baldwin's brews their own beer, my party wasn't in the mood for beer and we all had a glass or two of house red wine instead. It was not bad. It did the job and put us in a better mood after a long day of meetings. On the first night, I ate a flat iron steak with salad. It was well cooked, served medium rare as I requested. However, the salad was forgettable. On the second night, I ordered grilled shrimp. The shrimp was small and undercooked. Customer service was good. Our servers came by frequently to check on our drinks, pick up empty plates and fill our water cups. No complaints there. Overall, it was a decent hotel restaurant.

What ? Why I'm I giving it such a high rate compared to the other Yelpers.... THE KOBE BEEF HAMBURGER!! Yes the other Yelpers are right in shouting out against the Beer. It is horrible and a disgrace to all Micro and Hand crafted beer makers. But if ya love a great Hamburger ya got to try the Kobe. It's easily one of the best in the City.

Decent food and reasonably priced for being in a hotel. Not something I'd go out of my way for, but if you're staying at the Antler's Hilton and don't feel like exploring it's a good option.

A revamped menu with some exciting burger choices means this is a spot worth checking out whether you're staying at the Hilton or you're a local looking for something different downtown. I've tried most of the new burgers: lamb burger, chickpea sliders, turkey burger and the kobe beef. They're all very good with fresh cut fries seasoned just right. I'm partial to the chickpea sliders with the roasted red pepper sauce, avocado and sprouts. It's a tasty and comforting combination and I feel somewhat healthful eating it. If you're lucky, Sam will be cooking up a special. Whatever it is, order it. The bartenders are great: Leroy has drink tricks up he sleeve. He made me a French Pear with champagne, St. Germain, and some pear infused bourbon (?). It was special; in your average hotel bar the best you might expect is a standard bloody mary or gin tonic. If Mike is manning the bar, strike up a convo-- he's so friendly! The vibe is slightly upscale pub. Dark woods, high tables, flat screen tvs, relaxed and unpretentious. It feels like a neighborhood bar in downtown Colorado Springs.

Staff was really friendly, food was meh. Fries were a big disappointment, soggy and undercooked. Beer was good though, and service was friendly - which is why it was 2 vs. 1 star.

We arrived in Co Springs on Christmas Eve and had to search for a place that was open and stumbles upon Judge Baldwins. They had some interesting items on the menu and several traditional favorites. I had the turkey burger and asked for a salad instead of fries. The meal took a little long, but was outstanding. Very nicely seasoned turkey burger with gourmet bun and fresh garnishes. The salad was a generous portion of fresh greens and veggies and included a pecan encrusted goat cheese that was delicious and a good balsamic dressing. Totally enjoyed it. My daughter had the southwest chicken salad which was also very fresh with a whole grilled chicken breast nicely cooked, very tender and well seasoned. All in all great meal for a reasonable price and perfect for hungry travelers. A little slow, but waitress was very pleasant.

In general this place sucks. Thin vaneered wood trying to look old and clubby. Is a big ode to the cheesy "lets look like a Victorian Cheers bar of the late 1980s-90s'. Brass fixxtrues mixed with green and burgundy. Yuck. Our server was excellent and the food was so-so. Just nothng to rave about. No charm

The lamb burger is delicious! It does have a hotel restaraunt vibe. The servers are friendly.

Brandt and Matthew were excellent and attentive waitstaff. Their suggestions paid off as I trusted them with the menu selections. The raw then baked cranberry, white chocolate cookie Alaska ala mode with caramel sauce is a winner! Thank you, gentlemen! r Alaska

One beer and then got back on the road... Amber beer was flat... Looks of the bar is nice ... its kind of hidden ... ask for sampler before getting a beer

This place is much better than it used to be! Decor is kind of cheesy but food is great! Highly recommend the bacon wrapped dates and the Korean BBQ wings (SPICY)! Great craft beer to boot.

  • Ben M.

Not too bad for a quick lunch. Ambiance was a bit shallow for a "brew pub" with mediocre bar tables scattered about. The bar and grill are nice, as are the wait staff. Not much to write home about but suitable for solo lunch.

Go someplace else! Just aweful service and food! I took my brother here for his birthday today, his choice. I wanted a vodka tonic with lime. She brought it back with lemons and I was told that they were getting some more ....10 minutes later no limes, nor did she check back so I went to bar and was told they were out!!! Restaurant nor bar had limes? Ok I asked for wine instead. I'm ok with that. Then I order the lobster pot, I am told they don't have lobster! It is on the menu and it is a Tuesday night 5:00, not on weekend that they got slammed and ran out. Poor management of supplies. Ok I order the lamb burger, she asked how I want it I say medium rare. Comes back welldone, no pink at all and no flavor and dry! I try hard to just let it all go but seriously!! I can count on one hand how many times I have sent back a meal in 50 years! I had to, it was that bad. Then chef comes out and says they can't cook it medium rare because of the seasonings they use in it won't let it bind? So I agreed to no seasonings even though that made no sense to me and I am a gourmet cook myself! So then I tell her it is my brothers birthday and can we see a dessert menu. They don't have one but they have a few desserts. She not only didn't wish my brother happy birthday, but no candle, no offer of complimentary for your birthday....most places give the birthday dessert free... And yes it really was his birthday TODAY. Left with a bad taste in my mouth ...punn intended!

The service and food was very good. We had the sea bass, bison ribeye and bacon wrapped scallops. A friendly atmosphere and a great place to relax.

This place is a sleeper. It is in a picturesque location in the city with unexpected gems in the menu, for a brewery. I recommend the small plates and a drink at the bar. Good TV's for watching games as well.

After looking at the reviews, I was wary about trying, but we had a coupon BOGO. We were very surprised. The bartender (can't remember his name) was friendly and very engaging and happily answered any questions. Their lunch deal was salad, soup and 1/2 sandwich. I had the Caesar salad, lobster bisque and 1/2 grilled turkey. Everything was spot on. The manager came over after we were done to check on us as well. I would highly recommend Judge Baldwin's even without a coupon. We will be back!

Chicken wings and Ahi Tuna Mango Salsa were good. Everyone seemed to have enjoyed the food and beer here.

I have been going to j.b. For 18 yrs. It was once a great brewery and resturant. It is now a sorry place to eat and drink they call themselves a tap house but they only have 7 beers on tap most of them good and all their bottle beer sucks... low end swill at best.. We waited 45 min. In a very not busy resturant like 5 tables maybe for a burger and tacos. Never refilled our water, they used to brew some top shelf beer and its all gone. Dont waste you time, the burger was just ok and my girlfriend liked the shrimp tacos so not a total waste.. And they uses to have half yard and yard glasses...not any more of you are staying there go across the street for a much better selection on beer and food

Judge Baldwins is a strange place. It's located in a super-nice hotel, and it's a very nicely furnished place. But it's a brewery, and the beer is bad. Just straight up bad. What's up with that? I went there once, and never went back. I took a bunch of friends who are all big fans of micro-breweries, and we got four or five pitchers of beer (all different kinds). They were all bad. We asked the waitress if we came on a bad day, or if something was wrong with the beer, and she basically just said that's the way it is. It was awkward to ask, but when you've spent so much money on beer and it all tastes bad, you gotta ask. What is wrong with this place? Colorado is famous for our microbreweries, so what's their excuse? The only explanation I can think of is that because it's part of a hotel, they get a lot of foot traffic from people from out of state who don't know any better. Don't waste your time here.

Ambiance: Rather odd set up. Bar is positioned at one corner of the bar. Pub tables scattered throughout place. "Hotel" feel. Service: Beyond slow. Only one waitress in a fairly busy dining area at dinner time. We were party of five, waitress forgot to put in order for one guest at our table, their food arrived about 25 minutes after we had all finished our meal - no sorry or "comp" or anything. After we were all done eating, took over half hour to get bill. Had to flag waitress down constantly for anything. No excuse for this. Food: Cheap appetizers, that are hit and mainly miss. Decent enough green chili, though I have had much better in this town. Typical fried bar food. Nothing really original on menu. One person at our table ordered a boneless chicken entree that came as a boneless thigh (not white breast meat). I ordered a grill cheese sandwich for $8 that was nothing more than what I could have easily made at home. Most people in our group not happy with food. We ordered a chocolate lava cake that tasted exactly like those cheap little frozen things you buy at the grocery store. Overall, what a waste! We only ate here as we were going to a concert downtown, and they do validate your parking ticket. Looked around and most of clientele appeared to be single businessmen staying at the hotel that probably are unfamiliar with the downtown dining scene. Don't know why any local would come here. Phantom Canyon is directly across the street and blows Judge Baldwin's out of the water.

Acceptable. Service was slow but my lobster roll was good and so was my husband's burger.

Ate lunch here for a conference and had beers afterwards with colleagues. The service was great. The lunch was okay, a sandwich and salad for lunch...general stuff and nothing epic, but it got the job done. The only beer I tried was the stout and it was okay, again, not the best beer ever but certainly not the worst. If you are stuck in the hotel for a conference or a meeting, it certainly is an okay meal.

  • Jessica D.

I didn't like the atmosphere here-- very spread out tables, weird layout. However, the appetizers we got for happy hour were very tasty and at half price, quite cheap. The hummus plate was especially excellent, and I liked the chicken wings. So if you're hungry at happy hour, it's a good place to go.

Has this place ever been good? I tried it first time 8 years ago on my first trip out here (now live here) and it was terrible. Very similar to the other comments. Beer terrible, service marginal. Tried it a couple of times since and it really hadn't changed. surprised they can stay in business. I think they rely on hotel traffic, but even that is shocking given its one block from Tejon. Phantom Canyon is across the street, but I would grade that as average. Il Vicino on Tejon has better beers on tap, but its not really a bar, but a pizza joint (a very good one at that).

    (1)
  • Scott D.

Only thing good about the beer was the price. 2 bucks for a pint. Fine. It did the job. The beer in general was so so to not good. I had all of them but the Blueberry Wheat. I just don't do fruity beers. Service was good though it was not crowded. It is kinda lame that they close at 11 on a Saturday night, but oh well. Other places stayed open so we moved on.

    (2)
  • Ryan B.

Beer was decent. Burger was good. Buffalo wings were super salty because they just keep re-using the same buffalo sauce in a bowl and add some when needed. I probably drank 4 beers after eating them.. Nice tactic...

    (2)
  • Sam J.

My friends and I were lured here by the great happy hour prices. And, to their credit, the appetizers are truly great. Filling and cheap. But the beer is the worst micro brew I've ever had. Sour and flat as can be. We went for a few weeks straight making sure it wasn't just a bad batch. We even complained and asked them to increase the carbonation. Nothing doing. And then the service... We literally watched our food sit in the warming area for a half hour!! No joke! Finally, one of my friends walked up to grab it... and then of course they got the hint and delivered it. The wait staff are hit or miss. We had one extremely friendly woman and then a guy who ignored our table. We had to keep chasing him down to order. Avoid this place. Go to Phantom Canyon across the street!

    (1)
  • Smoke H.

This is a hit and miss place. Last couple of times there they have been out of their best beers and the service is slow. But when they have their amber and schilling it is not that bad.

  • David S.

I was very underwhelmed by this place. I was staying in the Antlers Hilton, so I thought I'd give it a shot - plus I wanted to watch some football so it seemed like a reasonable choice. It's a pretty big bar. Not sure how crowded it gets, but it was dead when I was there (Sunday evening). The beer was passable, but nothing to write home about. I enjoy beer, and I'll be the first to tell you that there are beers that some people love that I can't stand (like Yuengling, for example). I wasn't too keen on the beer in the place in spite of getting a sample of several. And since it is a microbrewery...well, the beer is everything! I also had some onion rings that were downright bad. If the rest of their food is like their onion rings - don't eat here. The upside? The staff was very friendly and attentive. The interior was nice. It was in the hotel. YMMV.

    (2)
  • Ryan G.

The good: Steven the bartender. The bad: fish and chips.

    (3)
  • Edwin S.

Not bad, but nothing incredibly special either. Like all the tvs, good place to grab a drink and watch a game.

    (3)
  • Ben M.

Okay. So yes, I'm a beerie - like a foodie? no? saying connoisseur makes me sound like an asshole. Okay, beer dude it is. Okay. So yes, I'm a beer-dude. I love good beer, don't get me wrong, on a hot summer day I like a corona with a lime as much as the next dude, but in general I want something craft and preferably Belgian. I was excited to start staying at the CO Springs Hilton simply because I knew they had a brewery on site. Well. Color me disappointed. The Oud Bruin was semi passable, everything else I've tried seemed a bit flat, watery, and lacking in flavour. The lager seemed to have no flavour at all. The lack of any truly good beer paired with a very tiny menu (of relatively mediocre quality food) makes me sad. That said, Phantom Canyon - and their excellent Hef - is right across the street!

    (2)
  • Mike G.

Not bad happy hour food prices but the beer is pretty bad. In fact, it seems the beer has never been good. If they'd fire the brew master and get some good beers there, it would be a good hangout spot. You should save yourself a trip and just go next door to Phantom Canyon.
